On October 14th and 15th the Out of the Dark Coalition and Jonesboro Public Schools hosted their first Out of the Dark Leadership Conference at ASU. The leadership conference provided peer to peer training by Dover Youth of New Hampshire to our youth to help empower them with the knowledge they need to deal with the increasing drug problems that they face living in our community.
Over 250 Jr. High and Sr. High School students attended the conference. Highlights included presentations by Dr. Shane Speights and Dr. Joe Stallings about the real risks of addiction and abusing prescription drugs.
