As a High School student, I am well aware of the use of drugs within our school system and even stretching into the Jr Highs. When OD was first founded I was a 9th Grader and this program has grown exponentially since then! I am in our current JHS Chapter of OD and would like to know if we could get the local school chapters together and have a localized day of Drug Awareness! I would love to be able to do more in this community!

I have already spoke with you about this Tambre, but I just signed up to be called when the Trumann Chapter opens. If I can help a child, it'll be well worth it. I'm right behind you. But you already knew that.

Hey, guys. My name is Crystal. I acquired several charges in the past over my drug use, but by the mercy and grace of God, I've been clean for 7 1/2 years. I've recently graduated with my Bachelor's degree, and now have a really good job, and awesome husband, family, church, friends, and LIFE in general. Life is so much better than it used to be, but then again, I never really lived life before. There is hope out there for those who are addicted to drugs. If anyone knew me before, you would understand what an unbelievable work that God has done in my life. I was as bad as they come. But really it was NOTHING for Him. He is able to "accomplish INFINIATELY MORE than we can even ask or think". If anyone is reading this that is struggling with addiction right now, DON'T GIVE UP. Cry out to Him. He can and will change your life. There is NO SHAME in surrendering. Shame is: being addicted to a drug that is destroying you; mind, body, and spirit. Shame is: being locked in a closet all night trying find a vein, staring out the blinds for hours seeing things that aren't real, picking sores all over you body because you just can't stop, or having to go around normal people with shuffles you can't control. Shame is: going to prison because your addicted to drugs. Shame is: loosing or abandoning your children for drugs. Shame is: a death certificate that says you died of an overdose. There is NO SHAME in asking for help. There is NO SHAME in FREEDOM. I have spoken to several youth groups and churches before about drug abstinence and would love to continue to do so now that have graduated and have more time. I also have some ideas about programs that might benefit addicts in our community. Some people want help and just can't get it. The odds are against them, and we need to make those resources more available. Lets stop letting them fall through the cracks. Feel free to message me back if there is anything I can do to help with preventing/ stopping drug use in our community. Thanks!
